Firstly this article is for people who are not comfortable in with working on different layers on a project. In some cases, we have to create different layers for specifying each body parts so that it'll be helpful later colouring and animating purpose.
Most of us(sorry if you are not) are lazy to do that layering just like me...

If you saw the above video you'll get to know that I did colouring in Photoshop by importing the illustrator project into it and simply used magic wand tool to figure out different parts and then coloured them individually. My only aim was to make a vector art of the initial image and to colour it with different shades. So only I worked on a single layer so that I can use photoshop to easily colour my art.
Professionally people won't do this because if you work on different layers later you can export or import into different Adobe software and can edit them accordingly.
